Screen print, linocut & blind embossing

My practice revolves around memories of places visited and objects within them.  Images, history, and feelings of these spaces are retraced to create essences in print and painting.  Colour is important and I juxtapose resonating colours to alter the mood of the work. Mainly focusing on screen printing and extending this I use both subtle and bright colour palettes for architecture and landscape themes.  I have refined blind embossing to a high-quality pushing memory-based elements further. These are devoid of colour, requiring closer inspection and leaving subtle, visual contrasts in the paper.

I like to combine printmaking techniques into handmade bookbinding, often of a concertina effect which I find is a beautiful way to enrich this narrative of memories retraced.
