Nik’s printmaking is based on his analogue photography and explores surfaces, boundaries and layers. Using the photopolymer etching technique he creates warm and sensual prints that explore and reflect back to us our experiences of everyday and quotidian sights. Muddy puddles; obscured windows; doorways and walls – his prints have a velvety three-dimensional quality.
He is a passionate advocate of the photogravure process and is always happy to share details of his technique and to this end Nik has written a number of tutorial guides relating to photopolymer etching and its peripherals.
His work has been exhibited widely in the UK, and he is a member of Birmingham Printmakers.
