MARCH 2020 

Handmade Books with Lino Printed Covers

Participants will design and print book cloth covers which they would then be shown how to create a number of hand made books including small case bound book. 
PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is run over two consecutive Saturdays to allow drying time in-between printing the covers and binding the handmade books.

APRIL 2020 

Introduction to Screen Printing on Paper 
Spend a day learning this colourful technique and create your own original silk screen prints. You will learn how to make a photo-stencil by coating a silk screen with light sensitive photo-emulsion and exposing your own image or design onto it using a UV exposure unit. You will also use a vacuum screen bed and learn how to register two different layers of colour. You will hand pull a small edition of two coloured screen prints on paper using a squeegee and water based inks.

Please note we will be working with existing images so you will need to have a black and white image or design suitable for screen printing. All other materials will be provided including cartridge paper and
different coloured screen printing inks. This workshop is suitable for beginners and those who want to refresh their skills.

Introduction to Etching with Copper

Learn the basics of making a set of etchings using a metal plate with hard ground and soft ground. You will use line to create an image and then experiment with different techniques and ink application to create tone and colour. This course is suitable for complete beginners or for those who want to refresh their skills.
