It was during Lokwiya’s undergraduate years that her friendship with printmaking began.  The simple act of transferring shape and colour from one object – whether found or formed – to paper unlocked what had been her dormant imagination.  That something glorious could be born, with quickness and ease, from trying out whatever idea popped into her head encapsulated to her what is best about the creative process.  Following graduation, she lost this friendship.  However, in recent years Lokwiya has rekindled it and by doing so she has found all the joy it once brought still there.
